Unbearable harassment: The fashion industry and widespread abuse of female garment workers in Indian factories
Alongside Asia Floor Wage Alliance and Society for Labour and Development, we collected testimonies from 90 women workers in 31 factories across three major garment-producing hubs in India: Delhi NCR, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Between January 2015 - December 2021, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre recorded more than 385 cases which bear the hallmarks of Strategic Lawsuits against Public Participation (SLAPPs), used to silence those who speak out in favour of human rights in the face of irresponsible or harmful business operations. At least 149 of these cases took place in Latin America.
