Plaintiffs Want Judge To Rule In Chevron Case [Ecuador]

Plaintiffs in the legal case against Chevron Corp. in Ecuador earlier this month requested that the judge of Nueva Loja Court, Juan Nunez, finally give a ruling, a lawyer for the plaintiffs, Pablo Fajardo, said Thursday. Chevron is facing a lawsuit filed by indigenous people in the Nueva Loja court for alleged contamination in the Amazon region of Lago Agrio…The company is accused of having used out-of-date technology that led to environmental damage…Chevron spokesman James Craig said that the plaintiffs' request is contrary to Ecuadorian law.
