Issues > Sexual exploitation > Child pornography
Child pornography is images and films depicting the sexual abuse of children – which therefore provide a record of the abuse. It is illegal in many countries. However its production and use on the internet and through other technologies have proven difficult to prevent. Internet companies, telecommunication companies, social networking sites and financial companies can enable this trade through their core activities, but many have also joined the fight against child porn, by excluding it from their networks and preventing traders in child pornography from using their services.
