Updating the Resource Centre Digital Platform

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is at a critical point in its development. Our digital platform is home to a wealth of information on business and human rights, but hasn’t had a visual refresh for a number of years.

We will soon be updating the site to improve its usability and better serve the thousands of people that use our site to support their work.

Please take an advance peek at our new look, and let us know what you think!

Thank you,
Alex Guy, Digital Officer

Developing an environmental & human rights mandatory due diligence framework

Date & Time: 15 September 2020, 09:30 -12:30 BST

The European Union has recently announced plans to develop a legislative proposal by 2021 that requires businesses to carry out due diligence in relation to the potential human rights and environmental impacts of their operations and supply chains. The announcement has been welcomed by civil society, which has long campaigned for due diligence requirements to be enshrined in law and leading businesses. Business and organisations should be considering how to prepare for this legislation. There is also other legislation, such as the UK Modern Slavery Act and the Australian Modern Slavery Bill that requires organisations to report on their due diligence systems to address modern slavery.

This course will provide an overview of the key legislation developments covering mandatory environmental and human rights due diligence and provide practical support on how to ebbed the due diligence.
