Director at Impactt China
Impactt began working in China in 2002. The company was registered as a Wholly-Owned Foreign Enterprise in 2008.
Today, Impactt China is seeking a Director. This director will provide visionary and entrepreneurial leadership to Impactt China’s talented team and grow the business in China.

Impactt aims to improve the lives and livelihoods of the workers and communities affected by global trade. We work with companies, organisations and individuals to develop business practice which extends the number of people who benefit from international trade and investment. We support companies to develop their ethical trading programmes, providing creative, pragmatic solutions and strategies and robust tools and systems which deliver measurable results. Our work includes strategy consulting, training, research and report writing, ethical assessments, brokering partnerships with local organisations and coordinating collaborative projects.
The Director will work with the UK Senior Management Team and the Asia-Pacific Director.
Post Location: Guangzhou, Guangdong province, PRC.
The Director will take responsibility for:
Building Impactt’s reputation for uniqueness, innovation and excellence with a range of external audiences
Building a strong client base amongst local and regional companies
Developing ongoing relationships with Impactt’s international clients
Directing the team in the delivery of consistently excellent work and providing technical support and advice to the team
Developing new products and services to meet and anticipate the needs of clients
Overseeing the running of the China company and ensuring international company systems are used efficiently and effectively
Excellent communication skills
Fluent written and spoken Mandarin and English
Excellent interpersonal, management and client handling skills
Proven track record of 5 to 10 years management experience including extensive project management experience in a relevant business field
Commercial, factory or supply chain experience
Robust and demonstrable strategic understanding of the ethical supply chain issues, practices and policies in China
Passion for labour and migrant worker issues
Willingness to travel around China (also to the UK and possibly other areas of the world)
Ability to multitask, handling many projects and other responsibilities at the same time
MA or other graduate studies
