Position Overview
HERproject is a global public-private partnership to empower low-income women workers along global supply chains. Recognized as a leading innovation for women’s health by the UN Every Woman, Every Child initiative, HERproject drives impact for women and business via workplace-based interventions on health (HERhealth), financial inclusion (HERfinance) and gender relations (HERrespect). Operating in 14 countries with 45 international companies, 300 factories and farms, 20 civil society partners, and multiple health-care providers, HERproject has improved the well-being, confidence, and economic potential of more than 310,000 women, and contributed to better health behavior and outcomes as well as financial inclusion for their family and community members.

HERhealth improves the health-related knowledge, behaviors, and access to health services and products for low-income working women. The program works to strengthen factory clinics and improve linkages to local health service providers to enhance women’s access to healthcare in the workplace.

HERfinance builds the financial capability of low-income women and men in global supply chains by delivering financial education programs and connecting factory employees to appropriate financial services, including working with workplaces to digitizing wage payments.

HERrespect promotes positive gender relations in the workplaces through trainings, policy development, and peer support groups to prevent and address different forms of violence against female workers, including sexual harassment at the workplace.

The position represents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, global team, and to contribute to the scaling up of a successful and innovative project in the intersection between business and development. Based in New Delhi/Bangalore, the HERproject Local Coordinator will work closely with the HERproject global team, and will report to the HERproject Representative based in Delhi and the HERproject India Manager based in Paris.

Responsibilities
BSR is looking for a program support based in Delhi or Bangalore to oversee HERproject activities in India. The person will have the following responsibilities which are described in greater detail below:
 Provide support to HERhealth and HERfinance program activities in India on a daily basis, including:
- Respond to requests from brand, suppliers, implementing partners on project details,
- Work with implementing partners to calculate cost of new workplace programs,
- Regularly, assess implementing partner capacity to take on new programs,
- Participate in monthly check-in calls with implementing partners together with HERproject Representative and prepare progress data on each program before the check-in calls,
- Communicate with HERproject Senior Coordinator based in Hong Kong to ensure all administration around the programs are working smoothly,
- Communicate with brand, suppliers and implementing partner to get programs started,
- Make formal introductions between brands, suppliers and implementing partners,
- Attend kick off meeting/HERproject trainings/other events regularly,
- Represent HERproject in meetings with local brand representatives as needed,
- Manage HERproject reporting to global brands and local business participants, including monthly progress reports, baseline assessments and endline assessments,
- Provide updates on program implementations, including progress, successes and challenges, BSR Country Manager for India and HERproject Representative for India,
- Quality control and ensure timely implementation of all projects.
 Event planning: Coordinate local launch events and supplier workshops as needed, including responsibilities such as content, venue, meals, transportation and other logistics.
 Communications: Produce communications material, including briefs, short videos, photos, working papers and short reports.
 Travel arrangements and logistics: Organize field visits and support with travel arrangements
 Other duties might be added to the list above, depending on program needs

Experience, education and skills required
Only candidates with these specific requirements will be considered:
 Master’s degree in relevant area such as social work, business or public administration, international development, or similar fields.
 Minimum 3 years relevant work experience in the area of international development and/or responsible business, with a strong preference for experience and networks in the supply chain issues, garment/apparel industries, and/or women’s empowerment, microfinance or financial inclusion fields.
 Experience working in a public/private partnership environment desirable.
 Excellent command of written, read and spoken English and Hindi is required. Fluency in one of the following south Indian languages – Kannada or Tamil - would be desirable.

 Excellent writing and reporting skills, project execution and basic project management skills is required, including project management.
 Strong organizational skills, including the ability to meet stringent deadlines, communicate progress on projects, and work with managers to coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
 Strong computer skills is a must - excellent knowledge of MS Office, databases and information systems.
 Good understanding of research, monitoring & evaluation, and capacity building.
 Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Time commitment
This is a full-time contractor position requiring on average 40 hours of work per week. BSR will pay a fixed monthly salary and the contractor will be responsible for independently paying all taxes. The contractor will be paid for government approved national holidays.

The contractor will be responsible for his or her own equipment, including laptop, mobile phone, and other needs. If the contractor is located in New Delhi, he or she will be offered an office space at one of the HERproject implementing partners’ office. Communications, printing, internet and other business related expenses will be the responsibility of Consultant.

Any out of state travel costs will be covered by BSR and will be reimbursed. The contractor will be requested to not take on other work outside this contract.
