The Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) is dedicated to improving working conditions and supporting the empowerment of workers in the global garment industry. In the twenty five years of our existence an extensive and effective global network of some 250 trade unions and NGO's has been created. Job description

The CCC network has decided to mainly focus for the next five years on increasing Freedom of Association, pushing for Enforceable Brand Agreements and a thematic focus on Employment Relationships, Wages and Worker Safety and Health. Together with partners within the network and the two colleagues in the Public Outreach team (PO) at the office you will work on developing and supporting public campaigns in these areas, that is to say campaigns aimed at awareness raising and mobilizing a world-wide general public to put pressure on brands, governments and international institutions. The position involves traveling several times per year and flexibility in working hours.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

-       you develop, plan and implement the strategy and campaign activities on one or more of the themes mentioned above in collaboration with the team in the International Office (IO)and partners in the global North and South;

-       you are part of the Public Outreach team and as such jointly responsible for general PO strategy and activities e.g. writing of newsletters for the different target groups within our database

-        you will follow the developments on the work areas assigned to you and advise on public outreach strategy

-       you will be implementing  campaign activities which may include the production of all kinds of campaign materials (FAQ's, press releases and so on), directly engaging and coordinating within the network, jointly working with and assisting partners in practical PO work, on line web editing, social media campaigning

-       you take part in staff meetings, planning activities and general organisational related tasks

We ask:

-       at least five years experience in developing and executing the public outreach side of campaigns

-       experience in working within a global network

-       ability to transform complex matters into clear messages to the public

-       experience with one or more of the work areas mentioned above is an advantage

-       excellent communication and networking skills

-       understanding  of databases and digital communication tools          

-       native or at least near-native speaker level English skills both in speaking and writing;

-       ability to keep your focus in a sometimes stressful environment

-       willingness and ability to be flexible given work across time zones and to undertake overseas travel

-       have a valid work and residence permit for the Netherlands/EU
