Research & Policy Coordinator at Transparency International Australia
Transparency International Australia (TI Australia), the Australian chapter of the world’s leading nongovernmental anti-corruption movement, is seeking a full-time Research and Policy Coordinator located in Melbourne, Australia, to help implement a new global thematic initiative, the ‘Mining for Sustainable Development’ programme. The role requires a highly motivated professional with sound experience in coordinating qualitative research projects and a good understanding of the extractive industries to support corruption risk assessments in the mining sector in approximately 20 countries across regions. The successful candidate will be offered a contract to the end of 2017, with extension subject to performance and available funding.
The Research and Policy Coordinator will contribute to the successful implementation of corruption risk assessments in the award of permits, licences and contracts in the mining sector in 20 countries across both the global North and the global South. Coordinating the research activities of the programme, s/he will support participating TI chapters in implementing the assessment in their own countries; liaise with external research and mining sector experts as required; lead on global analysis of research data; and contribute to translating research findings into effective national, regional and global advocacy messages.
