Senior Social Issues Advisor at UK Export Finance

The UK’s export credit agency and government department is looking for a Social Issues Adviser to join its Environmental Advisory Unit (EAU). The EAU is responsible for the environmental, social and human rights aspects of the company's policy and civil projects.

The EAU represents the company and, where appropriate, the UK Government on environmental, social, and human rights issues.

The Senior Social Issues Adviser provides specialist advice on social and human rights aspects of case due diligence, manages and takes responsibility for the environmental, social and human rights (ESHR) due diligence and monitoring of cases; provides training on social and human rights issues within the company; contributes to the EAU’s ESHR reporting and assists the Head of the EAU with the development of EAU policy and procedures.

They are looking for candidates with strong social and human right experience, good stakeholder engagement skills combined with a strong generalist ESHR due diligence and monitoring skill and an analytical approach. Candidates must have a relevant degree and/or specialist experience in international sociology, anthropology or related field.
